Recently, one of our long-serving engineers, Jack went through a training course covering the Repair, Overhaul and Reclamation of Equipment Used in Explosive Atmospheres(ATEX Motors). The course was provided by AEMT and was focused on Units Ex 005 of the IECEx Recognised Training Provider Programme (RTPP). It was in accordance with IEC BS EN 60079-19 standards.
The Ex Repair Training course lasted three days and included extensive theoretical and practical sessions.
Day 1 “Principles of protection in Explosive atmospheres”: Coved protection concepts, hazards, standards and certificates, concluding with a written assessment.
Day 2 “Hands-on Theory and Practical”: Practical implementation of the knowledge gained in Day 1, which also ended with an assessment.
Day 3 “IEC 60079-19 Ex Equipment, Repair overhaul and reclamation”: Focused on the international repair standard requirements and the requirements of other standards. Debates and Q&A sessions featured throughout the day, ending with a final assessment.
